Bible Story:
Achan’s hidden sin (Joshua 7).
After God helped Israel win a great victory at Jericho, He commanded the people not to take any of the devoted items. A man named Achan disobeyed God and secretly took gold, silver, and a garment, hiding them in his tent.
Because of Achan’s hidden sin, Israel was defeated in their next battle. The people were confused and afraid, not knowing why God’s blessing had stopped. God revealed that sin in the camp was the cause.
When Achan’s sin was exposed, he confessed. The story shows that hidden sin affects more than one person, disobedience brings consequences, and God desires honesty and obedience from His people.
