Sometimes it seems like everyone else is getting ahead—new house, new job, new blessings—while you’re stuck waiting. You might even wonder, “Did God forget about me?”
But Habakkuk 2:3 reminds us that God’s promises are always on time. They are not late—they are divinely appointed. There is an appointed time for the reveal. God is predestined and your steps are ordered.
When I am trying to get somewhere or I can’t stick to my To Do List or Time Schedule or no matter how hard I try, a creative project just doesn’t work out?
I relax and try something different. I know something is in the works and I am ahead of schedule, on the wrong path, missed a step in preparation or danger is waiting and I am being delayed to avoid it.
I am a senior and I can tell you God never fails. Think of things you prayed for and later felt blessed you didn’t get it? OK, then.

Train yourself to trust yourself and move with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and you will see less delays and you will be operating within God’s will.

Don’t let comparison steal your peace. “Keeping up with the Joneses” is a trap. Everyone has a different path and pace. What God has for you is unique and tailor-made. Proverbs 16:9 (KJV) says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” You may have plans, but God orders your steps in the perfect season.
As mama use to say, Don’t be jealous of what others have, you don’t know how they got it. If it cost your peace and relationship with God, It costs too much.
Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV) reinforces this truth: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord… so are my ways higher than your ways.” Just because it’s not happening now doesn’t mean it won’t. God is preparing you for the blessing and preparing the blessing for you.
John 14:26 KJV “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Reflection Question:
Are you trusting God’s timing, or are you distracted by comparing your life to others? Do you ask God for wisdom and knowledge as you make your plans? Are you flexible?
Keep walking by faith—your time is coming. Let the Joneses run their race. You stay in your lane and trust the God who never fails.
