“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.”Matthew 7:24 (KJV)

Many couples talk, cry, make promises, and even pray—but nothing ever really changes. They stay in relationships where peace is absent, emotional needs are unmet, and spiritual values do not align. Some stay because they fear being alone. Others stay because they have settled for less than God’s best.

But why don’t people change?

Psalm 55:19 (KJV) tells us: “Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.” When a person doesn’t change, it’s often not due to confusion—it’s due to a lack of reverence for God. Real change begins when we fear God and live by His Word.

Love comes from truth.
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” —John 17:17 (KJV)
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”1 John 4:8 (KJV)

Where there is no truth, there is no love—because God is Love and His Word is Truth. When people avoid truth, they also reject love. To be Christ-like is to walk in love and truth, because we are made by the Creator—who is both.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV) also warns us: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…” A relationship built on uneven faith, hidden lies, or worldly fear cannot thrive.

✅ 5-Point Compatibility Quiz (Based on Biblical Principles):

  1. Do we both believe Jesus is Lord and follow His Word? (2 Corinthians 6:14)

  2. Do we walk in truth with each other—no secrets, no lies? (John 17:17) KJV

  3. Do we both fear God and strive to live holy? (Psalm 55:19)

  4. Do we love each other with God’s definition of love—patient, truthful, and selfless? (1 John 4:8)
  5. Do we pray together and seek God’s guidance regularly?

James 5:16 KJV “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

If you answered “No” to two or more, seek God for clarity. You may be unequally yoked.

Final Word:
Talking isn’t enough. Change begins with truth and the fear of God. Love without truth is not real love—it’s tolerance, and tolerance won’t build a life that lasts. Let your love be rooted in truth, and your truth anchored in Christ.

Reflection Question:
Are you building your relationship on truth and God’s Word—or on comfort and compromise

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
