Dear Truth Seekers,

I am sitting here, drinking my coffee listening to thunder and lightning.  While reading my Bible during this morning’s devotion, I was led to a verse Luke 6:45 (KJV) that struck me in a powerful way—especially in light of the growing noise around “FREE SPEECH”. Protesters, YouTubers, and even self-proclaimed prophets use this term loudly, loosely, and often. But free speech was never meant to be a weapon to hurt others reputations, situations or provoke violence against those you disagree with.

I remember, as a child the Martin Luther King marches for black people equal rights. The people were peaceful even when violence was upon them. The people that marched and risked their lives trusted God and they won not just for all blacks but for all minorities.

Many people today are feeling anxious and overwhelmed. We don’t know what or who to believe because of so much commotion of immigration, court rulings,  executive orders, war, self-gain, layoffs, and people lobbying for interest groups. But in times like these, it’s important to pause, take a breath, and call on the name of Jesus.  Let’s talk about it.

When we speak, we speak with the breathe of Jesus.  The universe, heavens and Holy Spirit recognize God’s breathe that calls Jesus’ name and moves in your favor.

Ecclesiastes 3:19 KJV  “For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.”

Let’s remember: Jesus was a victim of free speech. The crowd turned on Him. The government feared His growing influence. They didn’t care if His words were true—they only cared that He was popular and Cesar would not like it. Then there will be consequences to them. They were afraid.  And because of that, Jesus was crucified. But for our sake, that sacrifice became our victory and FREEDOM.

So, to all believers: Before you speak, choose love. Surrender your whole heart to Jesus and call on His name. If you love Him, let Him lead.

What’s in your heart comes out of your mouth. If you love Jesus, you’ll speak His name often.

🔹 Luke 6:45 (KJV)  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

There is power in a name. But not just any name—the name of Jesus.

Romans 10:13 KJV tells us, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

1 John 4:15 KJV  “Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.”

Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15 KJV).” But there’s another way we show love with our whole heart: by calling His name with faith and reverence.

When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He didn’t just say “come forth”—He called Lazarus by name (John 11:43 KJV). That name-calling stirred the grave. The dead heard. Life responded.

Later, on the road to Damascus, Jesus called Saul who was a King that killed believers. Jesus called Saul by name and changed his name to Paul. That call changed Saul’s identity, his mission, and his heart. He became Paul—the greatest messenger of the Gospel to the Gentiles.

Acts 9:4 KJV  Jesus said, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” That voice didn’t just stop a man—it turned a killer into a Kingdom builder.

Likewise

James 3:8  KJV  “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.”  Only the power of Jesus’ Holy Spirit can tame the tongue.

Even today, if you’re facing unseen battles, spiritual attacks, character defects, or just deep discouragement—call His name. Jesus. That name carries authority in heaven, on earth, and even over the enemy.

When we speak His name in faith and love, we engage heaven. The Holy Spirit activates. God’s Word comes alive.

As Isaiah 55:11 KJV promises, God’s Word shall not return void.   Isaiah 55:11 KJV  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Friend, call on Him not out of habit but out of honor. Call Him in love, in worship, in truth—and watch favor overtake failure. Jesus is listening. Speak His name. Believe. Watch things shift.

Reflection Question:
When was the last time you called on Jesus with all your heart—not just in trouble, but in love?

Final Thought:  Try for one week, calling the name of Jesus – out loud or just a whisper throughout your day at least five times a day for seven days. Not in a conversation or prayer-outside of that. Just whisper his name as you go throughout your day.  This is keeping your mind on him. See what happens to your soul – feel it heal and be comforted.  Come back and let us know what happen, by commenting. Share. Thanks.

Isaiah 26:3 KJV  “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”

Philippians 2:8-11 KJV   8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
