Editor’s Note:   Foster Care Month:  The Children’s Bureau’s National Foster Care Month campaign recognizes the important role that people from all parts of child welfare play in supporting children, youth, and families. This year’s theme highlights the need to create a child welfare system that authentically engages and supports young people who are preparing to leave foster care.

Lets support the people who are fighting for the safety and survivual of our young people in foster care:  DFAC  Department of Family and Children Services.

True religion: James 1:27 KJV  “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Bible Verse Lesson

Title: Whispers and Slander Open Doors to Judgment

Key Scripture:

Ephesians 4:29  KJV  “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

Lesson Summary:

God wants us to live clean and loving lives. James 1:27 KJV says true religion means helping others and staying away from the world’s sinful ways. Whispering rumors and slandering others are not acts of love—they’re acts of judgment. When we talk badly about someone, we invite judgment on ourselves. God hears every word.

Bible Story Example:
In Numbers 12 KJV, Miriam and Aaron whispered against Moses because he married an Ethiopian woman. They spoke badly behind his back. God heard it. As punishment, Miriam was struck with leprosy. She was shut out of the camp for seven days. Her whispering and slander brought God’s judgment.

Real-World Example:
At school or work, someone might start a rumor to make another person look bad. That kind of whispering and side conversations can ruin someone’s reputation and cause real pain. Later, the person spreading the lies may lose friends or face consequences. It always comes back.

Reflection Question:
Are your words helping others—or hurting them behind their backs?

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
