“Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”
Our words are powerful. James 3:5-6 warns us that the tongue may be small, but it can cause big problems—like a spark that starts a wildfire. Complaining, gossiping, and speaking negatively can open doors to spiritual battles. These words can stir up anger, fear, jealousy, and division—not just in others but in ourselves.

Proverbs 14:30 KJV – “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.”
I saw her walkin’ with her glittery purse,
And my green-eyed envy got worse and worse.
She had those heels, and hair all laid,
While my flip-flops squeaked and my edges frayed. 😅
I frowned so hard I pulled a muscle,
Jealousy don’t care ’bout your spiritual hustle.
It sneaks in quiet—then shouts real loud,
Making you clap back at folks in a crowd!
But the Bible’s clear—don’t break your bones,
With envy thoughts and bitter tones.
A sound heart brings life, peace, and rest,
But jealousy? Child, it fails the test!
So next time you’re tempted to roll your eyes,
At someone else’s shoes or fries—
Say, “Lord, fix my heart, let me rejoice,
In blessings I got and in Your voice.”
Let’s laugh, not rot, with joyful grace,
And keep jealousy in its proper place!
