You’re in a meeting or a family discussion, and someone says something completely off. Your mouth is ready to go! But before you speak… consider this: Does every thought need a microphone?
God tells us that even a fool looks wise when they stay silent. That’s some serious wisdom!
Proverbs 17:28 KJV “Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.”

📖 Bible Story Example – Jesus and the Accusers
In John 8, the Pharisees brought a woman caught in sin and tried to trap Jesus with their words. But instead of clapping back, Jesus stayed quiet. He wrote in the dirt. Then He calmly said, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.”
His silence and wisdom left everyone speechless—and the woman free. The people realize what she was being accused of many of them were guilty of the same. Many people accuse people of a lot, later to be found out, they did the same thing-just didn’t get caught. God sits high and looks low.
Luke 12:3 KJV “Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.”
Psalms 19:14 – Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
🌍 Real World Example – The Facebook Fight That Wasn’t
Andre saw a post online that totally went against his beliefs. His fingers were itching to comment. But instead of responding, he prayed. Hours later, the poster messaged him saying, “I expected you to argue… thank you for being peaceful.”
Andre didn’t lose his cool. He kept his witness strong.
Matthew 12:37 KJV “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
💡 Takeaway Thought:
Sometimes silence is the smartest answer—especially when it saves your peace.

Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
