DearTruth Seekers and Believers,
I’ve been thinking about what really holds people together through the storms of life. Gratitude is found in loyalty. Just because a person is grateful to you for somethin you have done, it does not mean you have their loyalty. Even gangs—though built on the wrong foundation—show us the power of loyalty.
Their strength comes from standing together, never betraying one another. If a member betray another most of the time the penality is death.
But Jesus reminds us in Matthew 12:25 (KJV), “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.” It does not matter what the isssue is or who is right or wrong. Let’s talk about it.

Emotions come and go. Love sometimes fades. But what truly keeps families, friendships, marriages, and partnerships together is loyalty.
I remember visiting another couple with my late husband. As we talked and laughed, the husband asked, “What keeps people together through all kinds of weather?” There are people who have shot each other, some have stabbed each other and some moved out with others and then moved back in. Some have even stolen from each other.
We all gave answers: trust, love, compatibility. He smiled and said, “Loyalty.” He explained that in a committed relationship there comes a moment when both people look at each other and say, “No matter what happens, we are going to stay together.” Everyone agreed. That’s what I call true commitment. In prearranged marraiges, it does not matter whether you love the person you are promised or not. The couple just need to accept and commit.

As abible counselor, I see that loyalty is a deep emotional anchor. It provides security, stability, and a safe space to grow. Without loyalty, relationships wobble. With it, they endure hardship and grow stronger.
As a Christian, I find that Jesus Himself demands loyalty. When Satan betrayed Him in heaven, the Lord cast Satan and his followers out (Revelation 12:9 KJV). Even the law of man says you can be guilty by association. God’s law calls us to be committed—faithful in our relationships, our communities, and especially to Him.
I believe half of the problems in our nation today come from a lack of loyalty. Too many people are chasing money instead of committing to what is right and fair for everyone. Imagine what our homes, churches, and nation could look like if loyalty was our first priority.
Bible Story
Think about Ruth and Naomi (Ruth 1:16-17 KJV). Ruth told Naomi, “Whither thou goest, I will go… thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” That was loyalty. Because of her faithfulness, Ruth was blessed and became part of the lineage of Christ.
