Hello Believers and Truth Seekers,
Have you ever wondered why you can go to church, hear a sermon, read a powerful devotion, and still walk away unchanged?
Why doesn’t it stick? Why doesn’t it move from your ears to your heart? God is trying to tell you something. Let’s talk about it.

That was the question I read before I started my devotion this morning. I decided to slow down and read a little first—to get focused and leave the “To Do” list alone for a minute.
Life moves fast, and sometimes even when we are sitting in church, our minds are still somewhere else.
I thought about a recent Sunday. I was invited to a different church. I listened to a new young preacher. He was passionate, and I could see he wanted to do well.
Young people need room to learn and grow. But as I listened, something felt missing.
The words did not move me. They did not challenge me or change me. I even found myself tempted to check my phone. I didn’t, I was a guess.
That bothered me. As I listened closer, I realized much of the message sounded more like personal opinion with scripture added in, rather than scripture leading the message.
It made a point, but the interpretation was a little off. It was enough to sound good, but not enough to transform.
That is when the deeper lesson hit me. The Holy Spirit and the written Word of God must work together.
Bible knowledge in the heart of a Christian must be acted on by the Holy Spirit in order to produce Christian conduct.
Service done in the energy of the flesh—including the ministry of teaching—is of little value without the Holy Spirit.
Teachings must be given in the Spirit and received in the Spirit to produce change.
This is why a sincere prayer, with repentance, scripture, and in the will of God, from the heart in Jesus Christ name, changes things.
That is why some sermons stay with you for years, while others are forgotten before you reach the parking lot.
As Roy B. Zuck explains in The Holy Spirit in Your Teaching: The Relationship That Makes All the Difference,
effective Christian teaching is not merely information transfer, but spiritual transformation.
The teacher’s relationship with the Holy Spirit shapes the power of the lesson.
That truth stayed with me.

Transformation is more than hearing good preaching or reading good biblical materials. It is more than collecting scriptures, taking notes, or saying amen at the right time.
Real change happens when truth is received, not just heard. No excuses—just submit with acceptance the Word, and the Holy Spirit will take over.
It happens when the Holy Spirit is allowed to work on the inside of us.
Sometimes the problem is not the message—it is our attention, our distractions, our pride, our pain, or even our unwillingness to let go of old habits.
We can hear truth and still resist it if our hearts are not open.
Unity works the same way. Many people want connection, but few want the humility, patience, and forgiveness that real unity requires.
God calls believers to grow together, not just sit together.
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee.
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”

Develop a relational intimacy with Jesus Christ.
John 1:17 KJV “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”
Building up the body of Christ means its members grow into spiritual maturity.
A mature congregation is made of believers with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.
Part of maturity is the ability to evaluate different truth claims—to reject those that are unworthy of the Gospel and to embrace those that are from God.
This way, believers will know the truth and not be persuaded by different ideologies, cults, sensationalism, and misinterpretations of the Word.
In addition, we are called to express the Christian way of life by loving God and loving each other—living generously and serving one another (Ephesians 4:15).
Ephesians 4:15 KJV “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:”
These lessons are for the new believer as well as the mature believer, as they may serve as both foundation and refresher.
1 Peter 2:2 KJV reminds us that growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerated person’s life.
1 Peter 2:2 KJV “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”
In addition, we must share the Word of God through the Holy Spirit and receive it by the Holy Spirit in order for transformation to happen.

It is the Holy Spirit and the Word of the living God that transform lives.
Zechariah 4:6 KJV “ Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.”
That is why people should not attempt to counsel, teach, or preach without the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
It is the Holy Spirit that transforms life.
Not by power, not by might, but by My Spirit.

This is why prophets and spiritual leaders over the church receive special gifts from God—to guide and represent the people before God.
The power is in the Word and the Spirit, not theatrical acts, programs, fancy buildings or systems.
Therefore, I cringe when I hear people telling others and the world to counsel and teach the Bible simply to make money.
They do not know if the people they are speaking to are truly saved, or rejected by God.
They may answer if those people hurt others with their teachings.
Prophets, pastors, apostles, disciples, teachers and leaders of the church are called, guided and anoited by the Holy Spirit.
Many will also answer if you do not take personal responsibility to know the Word of God for yourself.
It is important that head of households, legal guardians, parents and grandparents be positioned to make intercessory prayer for others.
“Heaven operates according to the eternal Word and Holy order of God.”
God’s Word is forever settled in heaven.” “Psalm 119:89 KJV Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
It is obvious that we as a nation and people are entering difficult times. Georgia has been on fire for days.
Other states have seen tornadoes—more than a few at one time.
War is always near, with bloodthirsty people who have no regard for life,
and too often it all ends with money and death.
It is time for people to position themselves against spiritual attacks
and gain deeper discernment in the Spirit in order to make the right moves.
Do you trust your spirit in the hands of people who may be rejected by God? No.
Learn the Bible for yourself. Start today, there is no excuse.
Find your tribe. There are many righteous churches, leaders and people to connect with.
Discuss the Word of God in casual conversations. Bless someone.
I believe we should be able to look into each other’s faces and see Jesus
—regardless of race, background, status, or where we come from.
We are all made in the image of God, and we all need grace, correction, and growth.
