Letter From The Editor: Conscious Living
Hello Truth Seeker,
Let’s get real. In both instructional design and psychology, there’s one thing that’s clear—consequences change behavior. You can lecture, threaten, or guilt-trip people all day long, but if there’s no consequence, there’s usually no lasting change.
That’s why God, in His love and justice, doesn’t leave us to wander without correction. He allows us to go through trials and tribulations. Not to harm us, but to grow us.
The world may call it bad luck, karma, or “just how life is,” but we know better. It’s often God trying to get our attention. When we ignore His Word, when we lie, cheat, gossip, steal—even if it’s legal—or take communion unworthily, the consequences still come.
Some people are sick spiritually, mentally, and physically because of hidden sin and an unwillingness to repent. Let’s talk about it.

Hebrews 12:6 (KJV) reminds us, “For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.” If there is no correction, there is no covenant. God is not partial. He reveals truth to bring us into alignment with Him. If we listen to the Holy Spirit, we can avoid a lot of pain by correcting our paths early on.
Let me share a testimony.
I once had a conversation with an elder deacon at church. I asked him what he thought about grown children who leave home and come back with no change—just expecting love and acceptance. I must’ve shown my frustration because he gently said, “I have two young adult sons.
They’ve been thrown out a couple of times. Sometimes they leave angry, but they always come back. I ask them one thing before letting them in: What did you learn? If they answer, I let them in. If not, I say, You need to go back out there until you learn something.” He smiled and said, “They finally got it.” He’s proud of them because they grew.
That’s what a loving father does—he helps his children grow through correction, not just comfort. It all starts with communication and a willingness to change. Repentance is agreeing with God that you’re wrong. Remittance is choosing not to do it again.
Some people today deny consequences. They say it’s “just life” or “bad luck because I did not do anything wrong.” But let’s be honest—many people are sick or struggling because of unrepented sin: taking communion lightly, manipulating the truth, envying others, withholding encouragement, or loving money more than people. And the list goes on.
But here’s the good news: the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10 KJV). People who do not fear the Lord, do not change. Those who choose to walk in God’s truth begin to live consciously—loving more, forgiving quicker, and growing stronger.
Each round takes you higher and higher.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
