Romans 14:12 KJV says, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (KJV). This means that one day, we will all stand before God and explain how we lived our lives. God sees everything we do, so we must live responsibly and aim to please Him.
The Bible also says in Matthew 12:36 KJV, “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” This verse reminds us that our words matter too.
Another verse, Galatians 6:7 KJV, says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” What we do has consequences—good or bad.
Let’s look at the story of King David (2 Samuel 11-12 KJV). David sinned when he took another man’s wife, Bathsheba, and tried to hide it. But God sent the prophet Nathan to confront David.
David realized his wrongs, repented, and sought God’s forgiveness. While David faced consequences, God still loved him and gave him a second chance. This shows us the importance of being honest with God and repenting.
In today’s world, we might not face a prophet like Nathan, but God still speaks to us through the Bible, our conscience, and godly advice. For example, imagine if you borrowed something and forgot to return it.
