Let Us Reason and Extend Grace to Our Sisters and Brothers in Jesus Christ.

“Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)

Reason (2)

alt tag: Isaiah 1:19 KJV

God invites us to come and reason with Him. That means He is not just commanding us—He’s willing to talk with us, listen, and explain. This shows how kind and patient God is. God gives free will.

Jesus is our friend.  John 15:13 KJV  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

John 15:15 KJV  “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Isaiah 1:18 KJV  teaches that even if our sins are deep and ugly like red stains, God can make us clean. This points to Jesus Christ. During Lent, we reflect on His suffering. At Easter, we celebrate His victory over death. Jesus gave His life so our sins could be washed away. He reasoned with the people, even with His enemies, and showed mercy.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to do the same.  At our own free will we should talk with each other kindly, and when someone sins, we should extend grace, not hate. Jesus said, “Love one another.” That includes reasoning with each other and helping one another grow.

Bible Example:
Jesus reasoned with the woman at the well (John 4 KJV). She had sinned with 5 husbands and still single dating. Jesus didn’t shame her. He talked with her kindly and showed her a better way. She believed in Him and told others.

Real-World Example:
Imagine two friends arguing. One says hurtful things. Instead of yelling back, the other sits down and says, “Let’s talk.” They listen to each other, forgive, and become even closer. That’s what grace looks like.

Reflection Question:
Do I take time to listen, talk kindly, and show grace to others like Jesus does with me?  Do I have to tell everyone about it?
