Kids learn by watching. If you handle anger with yelling or silence, they might do the same. God wants you to raise children in love, not fear. The way you deal with anger can bring peace to your home—or pain. Be the example of peace and prayer your children can follow.

Bible Story:
King David’s personal choices had lasting consequences on his family. When David failed to deal justly with the sin of his son Amnon—who had violated his half-sister Tamar—Absalom, Tamar’s full brother, became deeply angry and bitter (2 Samuel 13:1–22, KJV).

For two years, Absalom hid his resentment until he finally took matters into his own hands and had Amnon killed (2 Samuel 13:28–29). Instead of reconciliation, the rift widened. Absalom fled, and though he eventually returned to Jerusalem, David’s lack of direct communication and unresolved tensions fueled Absalom’s rebellion.

He conspired against his father, winning the hearts of the people and driving David out of his own city (2 Samuel 15:1–14). This tragic family breakdown shows how unresolved anger, lack of discipline, and poor decisions can lead to rebellion, heartbreak, and lasting damage within a family.

Real-World Example:
A father used to yell when upset. When his daughter started copying him, he realized the harm. He started praying aloud instead. Now, they pray together when angry.
