Bible Story: Peter was told to watch and pray but fell asleep. Later, he denied Jesus three times. Jesus still restored him.
Jesus gave a clear warning to His disciples: “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41, KJV).
The life of Samson is a vivid example of what happens when this warning is ignored. Chosen by God before birth to be a Nazirite, Samson was commanded that no razor should ever touch his head, for his uncut hair was a sign of his vow and the source of his God-given strength (Judges 13:5, KJV). “For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”
But Samson let his guard down when he fell in love with Delilah, who repeatedly tried to discover the secret of his strength. Instead of staying watchful and prayerful, he trusted her, and while he slept, she cut his hair. His strength left him, and he was captured by his enemies (Judges 16:19-21, KJV). Just as Samson’s downfall came from ignoring God’s command and failing to guard his heart, we too must stay alert in prayer to avoid the traps of temptation.
Real-World Example: A man kept falling into old habits until he started fasting once a week and spending time in the Word daily. Temptations lost their grip.
Reflection Question: What habit can you start today to stay spiritually alert?

Romans 10:17 KJV “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
