Pain Point: Are negative thoughts taking over your mind? Solution: God’s Word teaches us how to think pure thoughts. “A daily rinse in God’s Word keeps the grime away!”
Main Scripture:
“…whatsoever things are pure… think on these things.” —Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
Supporting Scriptures:
Romans 12:2 KJV– ““And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.””
2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV – ““Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;””
Isaiah 26:3 KJV – ““Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.””
Philippians 4:8: KJV “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Matthew 15:18-19 KJV “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:”

Bible Story: Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, but He defeated every lie with Scripture. He focused on truth, not fear.
After Jesus was baptized, He was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to fast and pray for 40 days and 40 nights. During this time, Satan came to tempt Him when He was physically weak and hungry. The devil tried to deceive Jesus three times:
First Temptation – Physical Needs:
Satan said, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” Jesus replied with Scripture:
“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
(📖 Matthew 4:3-4, KJV; quoting Deuteronomy 8:3)Second Temptation – Pride and Testing God:
The devil took Him to the pinnacle of the temple and told Him to throw Himself down, quoting Scripture to suggest angels would catch Him. Jesus responded:
“It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
(📖 Matthew 4:5-7, KJV; quoting Deuteronomy 6:16)Third Temptation – Power and Worldly Glory:
Satan offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if He would bow down and worship him. Jesus stood firm and answered:
“Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.”
(📖 Matthew 4:8-10, KJV; quoting Deuteronomy 6:13)
Real-World Example: A woman who constantly worried began writing down verses and speaking them out loud. Over time, her peace returned.
Reflection Question: What kinds of thoughts do you need to stop entertaining?
Psalms 51:10 KJV “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”

Romans 10:17 KJV “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
