Leviticus 20:9 KJV “For every one that cursed his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.”
Today, I want to approach a subject that seems to be of upmost important: Rebellion. The holy spirit teachings is warning why many do not receive what they are requesting from God when what they are asking is a great need. The biggest whirlwind is disrespecting each other.
Disrespect is as rebellion and it is as witchcraft. I had a great revelation in my studies and a personal challenge that brought me to this subject today. Let’s talk about it.
Matthew 12:37 KJV “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
What is Rebellion?
Rebellion is the act of resisting authority or control. In the Bible, rebellion is not just about disobedience—it is a sin that separates us from God. 1 Samuel 15:23 (KJV) warns us:
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.”
When we rebel against God’s laws—whether by disobeying His commands, mistreating others, or refusing to show respect—we invite spiritual consequences. Respecting elders, each other, and authority is not just a matter of courtesy; it is a divine principle that keeps us connected to the flow of God’s blessings. The universe has no lack. It is a realm set on auto pilot.

God is truth, love and spirit.
Sin Blocks Your Blessings
Sin is anything that goes against the will of God. It is a spiritual disconnection from the realm where God’s blessings operate on autopilot. When we are obedient, we walk in the spiritual frequency of God’s will. That is why Jesus taught us in John 4:24 (KJV): “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”
This world was designed to respond to spirit, truth, and love—all characteristics of God. When we sin, we break that alignment, and our blessings get delayed or denied. Rebellion is dangerous because it removes us from the flow of divine provision. God created Adam and Eve to live aligned to his spiritual universe. They open free will and ate the apple. Free will separated us from God. Our will must be his. That is why we have his spirit, the Holy Spirit.
Living Intentionally: Maturing in Faith and Honoring Authority
As children of God, we must live with intention, resisting the urge to act on impulse. Spiritual growth requires moving beyond the basics of faith—weaning from milk to meat. Hebrews 5:13-14 (KJV) tells us:
“For every one that used milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belonged to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
We are called to mature in our faith and not live like those who do not know or fear God. Our actions, including how we respect others, should reflect the wisdom and righteousness of the Lord.
A Lesson in Respect: A Personal Testimony
For days, I had been studying the topic of rebellion, but I struggled to grasp its deeper meaning and how it connected to the world’s biggest problems today. Then, the Holy Spirit, who teaches beyond the pages, gave me an unexpected lesson—right in the middle of a store on Presidents’ Day.
There was a half-off sale, and I found several cookbooks, Bibles, and puzzle books. The line was long, but there were multiple cashiers, so I wasn’t worried. I also spotted a nice desk that I wanted to buy for my six-year-old niece. Since I needed to put a ticket on it, I let a few people go ahead of me to get into the correct line.
As I waited, a woman was asking for prices on pictures while a younger man, probably in his thirties, stood beside her. Suddenly, he waved over an older man, at least in his sixties, who had been behind me in line. This older man had a shopping cart full—carpets, clothes, and other items—while I only had about eight things.
I spoke up, saying, “I’m in line.” They completely ignored me, speaking only among themselves. The older man hesitated for a moment, but the younger man insisted, calling him forward again. That’s when I had enough.
I called for the manager, loud enough to get attention. Looking the young man in the eye, I said, “I am a senior and a woman. You should have more respect than this, and I will not stand for it. Young people have lost their sense of respect. If you do not respect others, do not expect your life to be what you want.”
The older man finally stepped back, returning to his place in line. The woman finished checking out, and the older man called the young man to his side, as if to remove him from the situation. But I had already learned what God wanted to show me.
That young man had no sensitivity to what was right. He only saw what he wanted, without any regard for others—or for the word of God. And that is exactly what the Holy Spirit had been teaching me.
When people live only for themselves, they cut themselves off from the flow of God’s blessings. The universe does not recognize selfishness as the voice of God’s spirit, so it denies requests, protecting itself from disorder.
Our will and spirit must align with God’s will, just as the angels do. When they don’t, chaos follows. Without that alignment, we are moving in our own power—not God’s. And that is a powerless place to be.

Why Must We Respect the Elderly, Authority, and One Another?
God has established order in society, and respecting those in authority is a direct command from Him. The Bible warns against rebellion, which leads to disorder and destruction. Romans 13:1-2 (KJV) declares:
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisted the power, resisted the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.”
When we disrespect authority—whether parents, elders, or government officials—we rebel against God’s divine structure. It is not about the person in power but about honoring the position that God has allowed.
Respecting the Elderly
God commands us to honor and respect those who came before us. Leviticus 19:32 (KJV) states:
“Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.”
Elders possess wisdom, experience, and knowledge that younger generations need. They have lived through hardships, witnessed God’s faithfulness, and can offer guidance. Job 12:12 (KJV) reminds us:
“With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.”
To disrespect the elderly is to reject the wisdom that God has given them. It is an act of rebellion, leading to a society void of guidance and spiritual direction.
Disrespecting Government and Authority
God establishes leadership, and He expects us to submit to it unless it directly contradicts His Word. 1 Peter 2:13-14 (KJV) instructs:
“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.”
Even when leaders are flawed, God can still use them for His purpose. When David had the chance to kill Saul, who was unjustly pursuing him, he refused, saying:
“The Lord forbid that I should stretch forth mine hand against the Lord’s anointed” (1 Samuel 26:11, KJV).
David knew that disrespecting authority—even one in the wrong—was a sin against God. We must pray for our leaders instead of rebelling against them. 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV) instructs us:
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
Respect in Marriage: Husbands and Wives
The Bible places strong emphasis on respect and love within marriage. Husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loved the Church. Ephesians 5:25 (KJV) states:
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”
Likewise, wives are to honor and respect their husbands. Ephesians 5:22 (KJV) says:
“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”
Marriage is a reflection of Christ and the Church. Disrespect and dishonor within the home create chaos, which spills over into society. A strong, respectful marriage honors God and fosters stability.
The Two Greatest Commandments: Love and Respect for All
Jesus summarized all of God’s laws into two commandments that govern how we treat God and others. Matthew 22:37-40 (KJV) declares:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
When we love God and our neighbors, we naturally live in obedience. Love includes respect, honor, and selflessness. The lack of respect in today’s world is a sign of spiritual decline, as 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (KJV) warns:
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.”
Living intentionally means rejecting selfishness, dishonor, and rebellion. We must mature in faith, respect those God has placed before us, and walk in obedience to His Word. Only then will we experience the peace, blessings, and divine order that come with aligning ourselves with God’s will.
Reflection Question:
Are you living in obedience by honoring those God has placed in authority, including elders, leaders, and loved ones? What steps can you take to show greater respect today?
Sin and the Realm of Blessings
Adam and Eve were created to live in perfect harmony with God. They had direct access to every blessing without the need for prayer. But when Eve ate the forbidden fruit, sin entered the world, and access to automatic blessings was lost. Instead of living in a realm where everything was provided living as angels, humanity had to labor and struggle.
God, in His love, made a way for us to reconnect through Jesus Christ. John 14:6 (KJV) reminds us:
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we regain access to divine provision—but only through prayer, praise, and obedience. If we walk outside of God’s will, this spiritual realm protects itself by denying our requests.
The Role of Prayer and Obedience
The world operates on spiritual principles. Evil forces constantly seek to manipulate these spiritual laws for their own gain. However, God’s realm is secure—it recognizes His Spirit in our prayers. If we rebel, if we live outside His will, our prayers will not be heard because they do not carry the mark of divine alignment. James 4:3 (KJV) explains:
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”
To access the abundance that God has already set in place, we must:
- Pray in Jesus’ name – Align your request with God’s will.
- Praise and worship God – Stay in His presence.
- Obey His Word – Live a life that reflects His righteousness. Love God and Love each other.
God will help you. Psalms 32:8 KJV I will guide you but do not 8I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. 11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
Final Thoughts
Rebellion is a spiritual blockade. It not only separates us from God, but it also cuts us off from the blessings He has already prepared. Respecting authority, especially the elderly, is not just good manners—it is a divine command.
If you want to walk in the overflow of God’s blessings, align yourself with His will. Live in obedience, walk in love, and stay connected to the Source of all abundance.
Reflection Question:
In what areas of your life have you unknowingly rebelled against God’s will? How can you realign yourself with His Spirit today?
Pray. Praise. Obey. Access the abundance waiting for you.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
