Letter From the Editor: Never Tire of Doing Good: Embrace God’s Will for an Exciting, Purposeful Life
1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV), Paul encourages us: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Regardless of age, status, or abilities, God provides exciting opportunities to express love and serve His kingdom.
Hello ePrayer Circle’s Tribe,
As Christians, we are not called to seek a problem-free life or escape the hustle of life and difficult relationships by aiming for retirement, relocating or wealth. Instead, we should embrace the calling God has placed on our lives—continually learning, growing, and contributing to His plans. Let’s talk about it.
As a senior in age, rather than seeking a quiet, retired life, I chose to serve God and people of all nationalities by sharing His Word on various life situations and teaching the Gospel online. I truly believe the Gospel changes lives. I enjoy the emails, prayer requests, and invitations to Christian events—meeting sisters and brothers who share the same goals.
Before I start my day, daily devotion includes praise, reading the Bible, and praying to God for His love, guidance, and protection for me, my family, and people around the world. The joy I feel in my heart comes from my personal relationship with God, and I have grown spiritually, living a life filled with purpose and adventure.
Of course, I face challenges like anyone else. My mother recently passed, and while that was difficult, I know the world is larger than me so I keep going. I see the pain, hurt, child abuse, and destruction on the news or in person, living in an urban metro Atlanta, Ga city.
Yet, I also know from my own experiences that Jesus Christ can solve any problem, and prayer changes things. If you can’t directly help someone, pray for them—the Lord will either use you in the solution or show you how He’s helping them, even if you don’t know their names. This is why the Lord wants us to pray without ceasing. Praying for others is loving them.
I love contributing to others’ lives by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. I encourage people to trust in our living hope, Jesus, who can do anything for those who seek and believe in Him. Still, like anyone trying to achieve a goal, I sometimes wonder if my work is reaching people—especially with the overwhelming presence of the internet, politics, and news of gangs and war.
Then I will reinforce with scripture that ePrayer Circle has a place to empower and remind people that Jesus Christ is the answer.
Recently, In the stillness of the night, I had a brief dream or vision. I saw a room filled with thousands of people of all nationalities of all ages and cultural dress, some I recognized and others I didn’t. I was told that all these people had accepted Jesus’s offer of salvation through my work.
I was overwhelmed. Sometimes, we are unaware of the impact a kind word, a gesture, or sharing of God’s Word can have—but God always knows.
- 1 Corinthians 15:33-34 (KJV): “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” – Paul urges believers to stay awake to God’s righteousness, rejecting sin and pursuing good works.
- Galatians 6:9 (KJV): “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” – We are encouraged to keep doing good, knowing that there is a reward for persistence.
- Colossians 3:23-24 (KJV): “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” – Whatever we do, it should be done with full dedication to God, trusting that He will reward us in His time.
In the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30 KJV), the servants were given different amounts of talents, each according to their ability. The faithful servants used their talents wisely, taking risks and multiplying what was entrusted to them.
They were rewarded for their diligence, while the servant who did nothing out of fear was rebuked. This story illustrates that regardless of what we have been given, we are called to serve God actively and faithfully. You are not saved because you serve God. You serve God because you are saved. Do not become self-righteious. Stay humble.
Luke 17:10 KJV “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.”
When you do something kind for someone or help someone do not tell people. Keep it silent and God will reward you in heaven, if you tell others you have received your reward in the bragging.
Matthew 6: 1-2 KJV 1Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Through these examples, we learn that a life dedicated to serving God is far more rewarding than seeking ease or wealth. God’s will for us includes growth, learning, and contributing to His kingdom at every stage of life. Be encouraged in the Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
