Psalms 23:3  KJV  “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

In today’s fast-paced world, we are constantly moving, always striving to achieve more, and seldom pausing to reflect. The Bible reminds us of the importance of resting in God’s presence and accepting ourselves and others with love. We often try to change the people around us, expecting them to fit our ideal.

However, true love comes when we accept each other as we are, understanding that God is always working in our lives to make us more holy.  Our largest concern is to connect to God to take on his spirit of excellence to be Holy. 1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV  “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Ephesians 2:10 KJV) reminds us that God has created each of us with a purpose. His works are perfect, and He makes no mistakes. When we recognize this truth, we can stop focusing on the faults of ourselves and others and instead celebrate the beauty of God’s creation in each person.

Isaiah 30:15 KJV says,  “¹⁵For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.” This scripture encourages us to find strength not in busyness or endless activity, but in resting in God’s presence. It is in those quiet moments, when we stop to “smell the roses,” that we truly understand the peace and guidance God offers us.

Psalms 23:3 KJV also reminds us that God “restoreth my soul,” showing that He is actively working to make us whole. By simply being, resting, and allowing God to restore us, we reflect His love more perfectly.

A real-world example is found in those who live more intentionally. For example, people who set aside time for daily reflection or prayer often report feeling more peace and connectedness to God. They understand that their value comes not from accomplishments, but from who they are in Christ.

As we go through life, may we focus less on striving and more on resting in the knowledge that we are wonderfully made. When we stop trying to change others and ourselves, except to become more holy, we open the door to truly loving one another as God intended.
