When life feels broken or distant from God, His invitation remains open: “Seek My face.” This call is deeply personal—it’s an invitation to come back home to the One who loves you most.

In 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV), God promises, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” This verse shows that revival—both spiritual and personal—begins in the heart.

Humility means admitting that we cannot fix everything ourselves. Repentance means changing direction—turning away from what’s wrong and walking toward God’s truth. When love fuels our obedience, as Jesus said in John 14:15 (KJV), “If ye love me, keep my commandments,” our lives begin to heal from the inside out.

Turning from Wicked Ways: A Genuine Commitment to Change

To experience God’s forgiveness and healing, we must turn from our sinful ways. We cannot make excuses for bad behavior or hide behind self-righteousness. God knows our hearts, and we must come to Him in spirit and truth. John 4:24 (KJV) says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” We may fool others, but we cannot deceive God. True repentance means taking responsibility for our actions and seeking to live according to God’s will.

Three Scriptures on Coming in Truth and Spirit:

  1. Psalm 51:17 (KJV): “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
This verse highlights the need for humility and genuine repentance when coming to God.
  2. Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV): “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
God desires that we seek Him earnestly, without holding back or pretending.
  3. Romans 2:11 (KJV): “For there is no respect of persons with God.”
This reminds us that God shows no favoritism. He sees all people equally and calls us all to accountability.

Hebrews 4:15 KJV  “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

Call to Return: Confession and Commitment

1 John 1:9 (KJV):  “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

We are called to return to God and confess our sins, acknowledging our shortcomings. When we come to Him in humility, God is faithful to forgive us. As we seek His grace and mercy, we must also make a commitment to praise and honor Him in all we do. God is ready to restore us, but it starts with our choice to turn back to Him.

In summary, seeking God’s face requires a heart of repentance and a sincere desire to live righteously. Let us turn from our wicked ways, approach God with humility, and trust in His promise of forgiveness and healing.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-109That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-65Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
