clean-living – adjective – /ˈkliːn.lɪv.ɪŋ/ used to describe someone who lives in a healthy and morally acceptable way, for example by not taking any drugs.

2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV“Having, therefore, these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

Clean living is more than one thing. It includes living in a clean house to avoid germs and diseases, being sober, and eating healthy foods. In addition to getting proper rest and exercise. Many medical and psychological professionals associate “clean living” with avoiding or controlling “factors” in your life and immoral ways of living that create depressive or anxiety disorders.

In the 70’s it was a tee shirt: “mind, body, and soul.” “love and peace”. Does this all sound familiar? It should be because it is all a part of God’s instructions. Through God’s spirit, the Holy Spirit, God enables us to live a “Clean Lifestyle” which enables us to live life and live it abundantly.

Titus 3:5 KJV“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

Ephesians 2:8 KJV ⁸For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ⁹Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Matthew 22:36-40 KJV ³⁶Master, which is the great commandment in the law? ³⁷Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. ³⁸This is the first and great commandment. ³⁹And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. ⁴⁰On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

John 10:10 KJV “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Below is an excerpt from Exodus 20 KJV. Moses talks face-to-face with the spirit of God. God gave him the “10 Commandments” for the people to follow. Jesus reinforced these commandments and added two new commands that are the foundation of all the commandments (Matthew 22:36-40 KJV ). If you follow these commands, many of your problems will be solved.

God’s commands have been incorporated into 12-step programs that have freed people of all nationalities from addictions and all types of disorders at no cost. When obeyed, God will help you to live a moral life by saving you from “factors” that create depressive or anxiety disorders. For example, adulterous affairs break up families, stealing leads to confinement, and lying can give you a bad reputation and a distortion of reality. Proverbs 22:1 KJV “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.”

Exodus 20:1 KJV

¹And God spake all these words, saying,

³Thou shall have no other gods before me.

⁴Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

¹⁴Thou shalt not commit adultery.

¹⁵Thou shalt not steal.

¹⁶Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

¹⁷Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour’s.

18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightning, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed and stood afar off.

¹⁹And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

²⁰And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
