Seek Wisdom Not Popularity To Avoid Sabatage

Main Scripture: Proverbs 4:7 (KJV)“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”

Bible Story:
King Solomon had a big job—he was made king as a young man. When God asked him what he wanted, Solomon didn’t ask for money or fame. He asked for wisdom so he could lead the people well (1 Kings 3:5-14 KJV). God was pleased and gave him wisdom, plus riches and honor too! That’s the power of putting wisdom first.

5In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

6And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

7And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

8And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.

9Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

10And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

12Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.

13And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

14And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

Real-Life Example:
Imagine a high school student named Marcus. He noticed all the cool kids skipping class to hang out. They laughed at him for studying. But Marcus kept his head down, listened to his teachers, and prayed for guidance. Years later, Marcus became a doctor—some of those same kids ended up asking him for advice. He chose wisdom over popularity, and God honored it.

Wisdom Reminder (Verse on Light and Darkness):
“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” — 2 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV)   We must choose friends who love Jesus and obey His commands. Pray for one another, and build friendships that help you grow in Christ.

Reflection Question:
Are your closest friends helping you follow Jesus or pulling you away from Him?  Are they sabotaging your assignment with God with distraction?

Are you choosing wisdom or trying to fit in with people who might lead you down the wrong path?

💡 Remember: Being popular feels good now, but being wise blesses your whole life. Choose well.

Takeaway:
Don’t chase claps—chase truth. Wisdom lasts longer than fame.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
