Why Was Satan Created? Satan was Created to Glorify Jesus Christ.
Satan was created to glorify Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and the Word of God by adversity, test, and trials that are defeated by God’s power. However, free will can create evil by going against the Word and Will of God. We can create evil and sin. Therefore, sometimes, our sin and evil come from our freedom to choose.

John 10:10 KJV 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. (Jesus said Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy)
Revelation 12:10 KJV “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” (Satan was thrown out of heaven because he accused God’s people day and night)
Luke 10:18 KJV 17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Jesus gives believers power over all the power of the enemy and assures us that nothing shall harm us – evil spirits cannot slay the righteous)
Luke 10:18 KJV 20Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 21In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

John 8:44 KJV “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it.” (Jesus speaks that people do not believe him because they honor Satan)
John 14:8-11 KJV 8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? (Jesus and God are one-Jesus is the Word that became flesh.)
10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. 11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
Isaiah 9:6 KJV “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son, is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
