Who Is The Holy Spirit? The Perfect Worshipper Who Helps Us to Worship in Truth and Spirit.

Who Is The Holy Spirit? Who Is The Holy Spirit?  The Perfect Worshipper Who Helps Us to Worship in Truth and Spirit.

The Holy Spirit also known as the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth is part of the Trinity. The Trinity is  known  as the three God Heads that make up God.  God is not the author of confusion.  He gives us a comforter who witness to Jesus Christ and his teachings, who intercedes in prayer for us as we pray, reveals truths, and give spiritual gifts that empowers us for service.  He creates teaching experiences inside and outside the body.  1Corinthians2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

God gives spiritual blessings to the Holy Spirit, then the Holy Spirit gives to believers. He is also described as a sealed deposit of our inheritance.  In addition, he baptizes all believers into the body of Christ bearing witness that you are saved.

1Corinthians 2: 12-14  12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit of which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 John 5:7 reads: For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

All Power

All Power

1. The Holy Spirit comes to believers in the name of Jesus Christ, sealed as a deposit upon your inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.  He bears witness that we are children of God. he teaches us all things and brings to remembrance what Jesus Christ said. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to understand and to teach you what you need to know when you read the bible.  Ephesians 1:13-14, John 14:26

Ephesians 1:13-14

13.In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,  14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

1Corinthians 12:3 Wherefore, I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God called Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost.  Romans8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.

1 Corinthians 4:20   “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.”

The Holy Spirit comes in the name of Jesus Christ.  Earlier John stated that he baptized in water but there is one who baptizes in the Holy Ghost. (John 1:33)

Jesus said: John 14:25-27  25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

2. The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us (prayer) with groanings which cannot be uttered straight to God. Romans8: 26-28

Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit

Romans8: 26-28  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered

27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of  God.

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

3. The Holy Spirit gives Believers gifts.  1Corinthians 12: 4-14

1Corinthians 12: 4 4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7.But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit:

9.To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10. To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11.But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to the every man severally as he will.

 12.  For as the body is one, and hath many members,  and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ.

13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether[we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14. For the body is not one member, but many.

4. The Holy Spirit develops fruits in Believers who worship in Truth and Spirit through the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:19-25

Galatians 5:22 19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

5. The Holy Spirit gives visions, dreams, and prophecies.

Acts 2:17  “It shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”

In conclusion, the Holy Spirit is a person and the spirit of God. He is the comforter who witness to Jesus Christ and his teachings, who intercedes in prayer for us as we pray, reveals truths, gives spiritual gifts and develops fruits of the spirit in believers that empowers us for service.

Call to salvation: After becoming a believer, you are sealed with the Holy Spirit. He is the witness to your salvation.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
