James 3:9 KJV “There with bless we God, even the Father; and there with curse we men, which are made after the similitude [image] of God.”
Words have power. When we label others as “crazy” or “a fool,” it is not only disrespectful but also sinful. You are also cursing that person. The Bible teaches us to guard our hearts and words, for they reflect our true character. Jesus warns against calling someone a fool in Matthew 5:22 KJV, saying it puts us in danger of judgment.
Instead, we are called to approach conflicts and misunderstandings with love, patience, and humility. I think most people have called someone that or told someone that of another or at least have thought it.
The good news, you can repent it with remittance which means do not do it again. Think of it like this. If you went to heaven, do you think people are calling people that? No. Those people don’t make it without repenting and remittance.
Matthew 12:37 KJV “For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned.”
Examples:
Anger over Differences: You might feel frustrated when someone doesn’t share your perspective, but calling them foolish or crazy belittles their God-given uniqueness.
Slandering for Gain: Speaking ill of someone to make yourself look better is not only dishonest but violates God’s command to love your neighbor.
Sabotaging Competitors: Giving false job references or personal references to harm and sabotage someone out of jealousy or hatred is deceitful and unloving.
Generational Anger: Labeling your rebellious child as crazy overlooks their struggles and the need for guidance with patience and prayer.
The Bible gives us wisdom on this matter:
Matthew 5:22 KJV: “But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.“
Proverbs 29:11 KJV: “A fool uttered all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.”
Ephesians 4:29 KJV: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
Reflection Question:
How can you speak words that build others up instead of tearing them down, even when you are frustrated or angry?
Closing Thought:
Words reflect our hearts. Let us use them to show love and grace, just as God does with us.

John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
