Civilization begins where people agree to live under authority. Order, laws, and respect for rank separate a civil society from chaos. God designed His kingdom in the same way. In heaven, there is order: angels have ranks, the apostles and prophets hold authority, and even children are told, “Obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right” (Ephesians 6:1 KJV).
When people refuse correction, they fall into what the Bible calls a reprobate mind (Romans 1:28). That is not just disobedience—it is a curse.
Today, many want to be heard, but few are willing to listen. Everyone demands their own way. Yet God’s Word says, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend” (Proverbs 27:17 KJV). We sharpen each other by listening, correcting, and confessing. A correctable spirit shows humility; a hard spirit leads to destruction.
Authority and God’s Order
From the earliest civilizations, societies prospered when they respected laws and leaders. Without authority, anarchy ruled. The same is true in the kingdom of God. He placed apostles, disciples, pastors, and deacons to guide His people. We are called to submit, not because leaders are perfect, but because God’s order is perfect. Rejecting authority is not just rebellion against man—it is rebellion against God.

Bible Story: Samuel Hears God’s Voice
In 1 Samuel 3, the child Samuel lay in the temple when the Lord called his name. At first, he thought Eli, the priest, was speaking. But Eli taught Samuel how to listen. When God called again, Samuel replied, “Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth.” Because Samuel had a listening and correctable spirit, God trusted him with His Word and raised him up as a prophet.
Solution for Today
In these last days, the Bible warns that children will rise against parents, and lawlessness will increase (Mark 13:12). The solution is simple but powerful:
Get knowledge. Do not ignore wisdom—seek God’s Word daily.
Stay connected. Remain rooted in church, family, and community.
Find your tribe. Surround yourself with those who sharpen you in faith.
It takes effort to listen and submit, but it is worth it. A humble, correctable spirit keeps us in God’s favor and out of the curse of rebellion.

Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
