Shut the Door and Rest in Jesus Until the Disaster is Over. Isaiah KJV

Isaiah 26:20 KJV  20Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.   Psalm 91 KJV  adds, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty… my refuge and my fortress… in him will I trust” (Psalm 91:1–2). These verses promise real refuge—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Bible Story: Exodus and God Hid a Woman in the Wilderness

Think of the night of Passover in Exodus. God told the people to stay inside their homes with the door marked by the lamb’s blood. While judgment moved through the land, God kept His people safe. In the same way, Jesus—our Passover Lamb—covers us. When evil rises or fear shouts, we “enter our chamber” by running to Christ in prayer and faith.

Revelation 12:6 (KJV) says, “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” God prepared a safe place and daily care in a hidden location. This shows God’s power to shelter His faithful in dangerous times. He knows the place, He sets the timing, and He provides the nourishment.

How God Hides Us Today

  • Spiritually: In Christ, we are covered by His blood and authority. The Lord breaks snares and cancels assignments of the enemy. No “monitoring spirits,” and no claims of astral projection or telekinesis can overrule Jesus’ lordship.

  • Mentally: God guards our minds with peace . He quiets fear, gives wisdom, and restores focus.  “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”     Philippians 4:7 KJV

  • Physically: God orders steps, shuts doors, and redirects paths. He can make a hiding place in plain sight or lead us to a safe “wilderness” until danger passes.    20Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain. (Isaiah 26:20–21).

Entering the Chamber

  1. Pray Scripture aloud: “My God; in him will I trust” (Psalm 91:2).

  2. Repent and obey: Clean hands and a loyal heart strengthen your shelter.

  3. Practice holy boundaries: Limit noise, turn off harmful media, rest, and think on God’s Word.

  4. Stay in fellowship: Even if doors are shut for a season, stay linked to the Body of Christ.

👍👍❤️❤️🙏Reflection Question: What “door” will you shut this week so you can dwell in the secret place and hear Jesus more clearly?

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-109That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-65Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
