Isaiah 33:15 (KJV):  “He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despised the gain of oppressions, that shake his hands from holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shut  his eyes from seeing evil.”

This scripture gives us a clear picture of how God wants us to live a holy life. It teaches us to walk righteously, avoid participating in evil, and to be cautious of what we allow into our lives through our eyes, ears, and words.

Breaking Down the Verse

Walking Righteously
Living a righteous life means choosing to obey God’s commands. This involves being honest, fair, and kind in our actions.

Speaking Uprightly
Our words should reflect our faith. Speaking uprightly means avoiding gossip, lies, and hurtful words. Instead, we should use our speech to encourage and uplift others.

Avoiding Evil Influences

Eyes-See: We are warned to turn away from things that tempt us or lead us into sin. This could include avoiding harmful media or immoral behavior.

Ears-Hear: Be mindful of what you listen to, whether it’s gossip, profanity, or harmful conversations.

Hands: Reject any action that involves injustice or wrongdoing.

Real World Application

Imagine you are in a group of friends, and they begin to gossip about someone. Instead of joining in, you choose to change the subject or gently remind them to speak positively. By doing so, you are protecting your heart and maintaining a righteous walk with God.
