Devotional : Saved for Good Works: Grace Motivates Action
Grace produces fruit in a believer’s life. The Bible teaches that we are not saved by works, but we are saved for good works.
Ephesians 2:8–10 (KJV) explains that salvation is a gift of grace through faith, yet we are “created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
A beautiful example is Dorcas, also called Tabitha, in Acts 9:36 KJV. She was known for her kindness, sewing garments, and helping the poor. Her faith showed itself through action.
“Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.”
When she died, the people she helped gathered and showed Peter the coats and clothes she had made for them. Her life proves that good works are gratitude in motion.
Grace changes the heart, and a changed heart naturally serves others. Just as a healthy tree produces fruit, a life touched by grace produces compassion, generosity, and service.
Grace does not make believers passive—it moves them outward to bless others and reflect the love of Christ in practical ways.

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-109That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-65Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
