This posts explores what the Bible has to say about “other worlds” and the universe, touches on the recent scientific news about 3I/ATLAS, and draws out implications for Christians.
As Christians who trust the King James Version of the Bible and believe that God created all things, we can explore two big realities: (1) the universe is vast, and science is discovering surprising objects like 3I/ATLAS; (2) the Bible teaches that God has given mankind dominion on this earth, and this has spiritual meaning.
Genesis 1: 26- 31 KJV 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
What science is telling us
In 2025 scientists—especially NASA and other space agencies—announced the discovery of the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS. This object:
This discovery reminds us that our “solar system” may not be all there is—there are things coming into our space from “outside,” and the universe is even more expansive than we typically imagine.

What the Bible says about the heavens, worlds, and dominion
Here are some key Scripture passages and what they teach:
Genesis 1:1 (KJV): “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
This affirms that God is the Creator of both the “heaven(s)” and the earth.
Psalms 115:16: “The heavens, even the heavens, are the LORD’s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.” Bible Hub+1
This verse is very helpful: it draws a clear distinction—“the heavens” (plural) belong to the Lord, but “the earth” is given to the children of men (humanity). It suggests that humanity’s stewardship is focused on Earth.
Psalms 8:4-6: “What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? … Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands, thou hast put all things under his feet.”
Though quoted from memory, this passage emphasizes that God has given mankind dominion—a key word.
Hebrews 11:3: “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God…” OpenBible+1
The word “worlds” here reminds us that creation is not just earth, but more.
From these and other scriptures we can draw some guiding biblical truths:
God is the Creator of all heaven(s) and earth.
The earth has been given to human beings as their place of dominion and stewardship.
While the “heavens” belong to God, the earth has a special role for humans.
The Bible does not clearly teach about man living on other planets or visiting “other worlds” in the sense of other inhabited planets beyond earth (at least not in explicit detail). Many Bible scholars note that passages about man’s rule refer to the earth, not outer space per se. icr.org+1

How to think about “aliens” or “other worlds” from a biblical perspective
Given both the scientific news and biblical teaching, here are some considerations for Christians:
“Other worlds” are possible: Science reveals the universe is vast—interstellar objects like 3I/ATLAS show that things beyond our solar system can pass through our neighborhood. The Bible does say God framed “worlds” and that the heavens declare God’s glory (see Psalm 19). So it is not irrational for Christians to believe the possibility of “other worlds” or realms beyond what we know.
But our assignment is here on earth: Psalm 115:16 reminds us that “the earth hath he given to the children of men.” We have dominion here. The Bible does not give mankind a mandate to colonize other planets or to assume rule outside earth. In fact, some Christian commentators argue that man’s dominion applies to the earth—not to the heavens. icr.org+1
“Aliens” in the spiritual realm: If by “aliens” we mean spiritual beings (fallen angels, etc.), the Bible has plenty to say about the spiritual realm—angels, demons, principalities, cosmic powers. Ephesians 6:12, for example says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces in heavenly places. But if by aliens we mean creatures from another planet visiting earth in UFOs, the Bible does not give a detailed teaching about that. Christians must be careful: any teaching that ascribes worship to an alien being or sees aliens as equal in status with humans would conflict with Scripture’s view that salvation is in Christ alone.
Dominion and responsibility: Because God has given the earth to man, Christians have the responsibility to care for the earth, love our neighbor, steward resources, and live in obedience to Christ. If we speculate about “other worlds,” our first responsibility remains here on earth—to the gospel, to the church, and to humanity.
What this could mean for the future of the world and for Christians
Scientific discoveries may raise questions: As scientists like NASA study objects like 3I/ATLAS, people may ask questions like: “Are there other inhabited planets? What is life beyond earth like? Could aliens exist?” Christians should be ready to engage these questions with humility, truth, and the gospel.
Worldview matters: When other worlds or spiritual beings are discussed, Christians need to hold fast to Biblical truth: God created all, Christ died and rose, we are stewards of the earth, and destiny for believers is a new heaven and new earth (see Revelation 21:1).
Focus on mission on earth: Regardless of what is out there, the Great Commission remains: to make disciples, teach the gospel, love God and neighbor. Speculation about aliens or space missions can’t replace the call to Christian mission.
Hope for the future: Because we know that Jesus Christ will return and that creation itself will be renewed (Romans 8:21-22 speaks of creation being set free from bondage), we can live with hope—even in the midst of scientific mystery. The vastness of the universe reminds us of God’s greatness.
Final Thoughts
Yes — the universe is huge, science is discovering fascinating things like 3I/ATLAS, and Christians are free to think and learn about space and other worlds.
But the Bible teaches that this earth has been given to humanity, that we have dominion and responsibility here, and that our ultimate hope is in Christ and the new creation.
Christians should remain grounded in Scripture, open to truth from science, careful about speculation, and committed to mission on earth.
Let this encourage us: gaze at the heavens, witness God’s glory in creation, but keep our feet planted on the good ground of the Gospel.
🤔🤔🤔Reflection Question:
How does knowing that God created the heavens and earth, and that the earth is entrusted to us, influence the way you live, worship, and share your faith today?
🔥🔥🔥 Final Takeaway:
The stars may beckon our curiosity, but the gospel compels our hearts. God made the universe—and He made this earth for human relationship, stewardship, and hope. Live life and live it abundantley.
