Good Friday is a Christian holy day that remembers the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary. It is observed during Holy Week, usually on the Friday before Easter Sunday.
The day is called “good” because Christians believe that through the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus, forgiveness of sins and the promise of salvation were made possible for humanity.
Even though the event was painful and sorrowful, it is seen as part of God’s loving plan to bring spiritual hope and new life.
Many believers observe Good Friday with prayer, fasting, church services, quiet reflection, and reading Bible passages about the crucifixion.
It is often a solemn day focused on gratitude, repentance, and remembering the depth of Christ’s love.
In simple terms, Good Friday is the day Christians remember the sacrifice of Jesus and reflect on its meaning for their faith and daily life.
Ephesians 2:6-9 (KJV) 6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Devotional
Loneliness is rising globally. Yet Scripture says believers are no longer strangers.
In Acts 2 KJV, the early church shared meals, prayer, and resources. Community formed around Christ.
Belonging is not built on similarity. It is built on shared redemption.
Counseling research shows belonging reduces anxiety and depression. Spiritually, isolation weakens faith.
God reconciles us not only to Himself—but to each other.
