Hello ePrayer’s Circle’s Tribe,

As I sit here sipping my morning coffee and reflecting on my devotions, my thoughts are drawn to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza. History has shown us that Israel has faced numerous challenges and conquests throughout the ages. These trials, as recorded in both biblical and secular history, served as divine interventions to guide Israel, God’s chosen people, back to repentance and obedience to His commands.

Prophecy, in its traditional sense, is the foretelling of events yet to come, events that are already “written”. Even in today’s confused world, every event, every circumstance, plays a part in God’s grand plan to keep His people holy and under His divine protection.

The Bible prophesies that Israel will one day embrace Jesus Christ as their Messiah and Savior. Isaiah, perhaps the most accurate prophet regarding the coming of Jesus Christ, foretold the arrival of the Messiah 700 years before His birth.

Isaiah’s prophecies also accurately predicted Jesus’ crucifixion. It’s awesome to think of the foresight of a prophet who lived seven centuries before the events he described. Today, we’ll study Isaiah’s prophecy about Jesus being the leader on the pathway to God’s eternal home.

Isaiah 35:8 KJV,  tells a prophesy of hope in the coming messiah, Jesus Christ ,who will come and lead people on the Highway of Holiness to God’s House.  – a highway, a pathway to restoration and eternal bliss. This highway, named the “Highway of Holiness,” stands as a testament to God’s unwavering love and His promise of redemption for those who seek His face.

Imagine a big, safe road like the ones we drive on in cars. This road is special, though. It’s called the “Highway of Holiness,” and only good people can walk on it. It’s like a special path that leads to God’s house.

People who do bad things can’t walk on the Highway of Holiness. It’s as if they’re wearing dirty shoes and can’t go into a clean house. But if we’re good and try to follow God’s rules, we can walk on the Highway of Holiness, no matter how smart or foolish we are.

God is like a loving parent who always watches over us when we’re on the Highway of Holiness. He makes sure we don’t get lost or hurt. And when we finally reach God’s house, we’ll be so happy we’ll never want to leave!

In Isaiah 35:8, the prophet declares, “And a highway shall be there, and a way, that shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.” This highway is not merely a physical road; it symbolizes a spiritual journey, a path towards holiness and righteousness.

The ‘unclean’ are barred from this sacred path, signifying that those who remain entangled in the shackles of sin and unrighteousness cannot travel it. The highway is reserved for the ‘wayfaring men,’ those who have embarked on the journey of seeking God’s forgiveness and embracing His sanctifying grace.

Despite their imperfections and shortcomings, these ‘fools’ will not err on this path. God’s guidance and protection ensure their safe passage, for He has promised to lead them along the Highway of Holiness.

Isaiah 35:9  9No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:       The absence of lions and ravenous beasts further emphasizes the safety and security of this journey. These creatures represent the dangers and temptations that lurk along the path of life. However, on the Highway of Holiness, they dare not tread, for God’s presence and protection repel all forms of evil.

The Highway of Holiness leads to everlasting joy and gladness that await the redeemed. The journey may be arduous, but the destination is beyond compare.

In the context of biblical cleanliness, the Highway of Holiness serves as a powerful metaphor for spiritual purity. Just as the highway is reserved for those cleansed from sin, so too is the kingdom of heaven accessible only to those who have been made holy through Christ’s sacrifice.

The Highway of Holiness beckons us, inviting us to embark on a transformative journey of redemption and restoration. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we can tread this sacred path, shedding the burdens of sin and embracing the promise of eternal life.

  • What does the Highway of Holiness represent to you? Why do you think Isaiah chose this image to describe the path to God?
  • How does the Highway of Holiness relate to your own life? What steps can you take to walk on this path?

CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is the Spirit.
