Hello Truth Seekers,

Winthin weeks many people of all  ages will be graduating from schools of learning.  🎓Graduates, let’s talk. You got the cap, the gown, the new shoes… but do you have discernment?

That’s the ability to tell right from almost right. We all have good intentions, but let’s not forget what your grandma used to say: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” Turns out, she was quoting the Bible and maybe without knowing it.

Proverbs 21:2-5 (KJV) says:
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts…” In other words, just because it feels right, doesn’t mean it is right. God checks your heart, not your Instagram likes.  We often think what we think is correct, so dont be too wise. Many times unto God we are not.
Verse 5 tells us that diligent thoughts lead to plenty, but haste leads to want. Quick decisions and fast talk can cost you big blessings.

🙋🏽‍♀️ Real-World Example:

A new graduate took a job offer over another that “sounded right:.” Good pay, Insurance, Growth, Education, Gym, Babysitting, Parking and Free snacks. But they ignored the Holy Spirit’s nudge and skipped prayer. Six months in, they were stressed, spiritually empty, and working Sundays.

The  culture and morale of the business was very bad. They went out of business in two months.

Lesson? Don’t just go where the money flows—go where God leads. God is predestined in his plans for you and the future.

Psalm 32: 7-11 KJV  7Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. 11Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

📖 Bible Story:

🏰 1 Samuel 13 KJV  King Saul’s Good Intentions Cost Him Everything

King Saul was the first king of Israel. One day, he was getting ready for a big battle. His army was scared, and the prophet Samuel had not arrived yet to offer the sacrifice to God. Saul got nervous. So instead of waiting for Samuel like God commanded, Saul decided to offer the sacrifice himself.

Sounds responsible, right? He wanted to keep the people calm. He thought he was doing a good thing. But here’s the problem—only priests and prophets were allowed to give sacrifices, not kings. Saul disobeyed God’s clear command.

When Samuel finally arrived, he told Saul that his kingdom would not last. Saul’s good intentions were still disobedience. He let fear and pride lead him instead of faith and patience. That moment was the beginning of the end for Saul’s rule. God would raise up a new king—David, a man after God’s own heart.

Lesson: Even when we mean well, we must still follow God’s way, not our own.  Remember, this is the Old Testment before Jesus Christ, Blood sacrifices are not needed as Jesus the lamb of God is the sacrifice for all forever, that  we must accept for forgiveness of sin and cleansing forever.

Hebrews 10:12 (KJV)
“But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;”

This means Jesus offered Himself as a final, perfect sacrifice—no more animals, no more repeated rituals. He did it once, and that was enough for all sin, forever.

✝️Matthew 16:21–24 KJVEven Good Intentions Can Get in the Way of God’s Plan

Peter loved Jesus deeply. So, when Jesus told the disciples that He would suffer, die, and rise again, Peter tried to stop Him. He meant well—he didn’t want Jesus to go through pain. But Jesus knew that His suffering was part of God’s plan to save the world.

When Peter said, “No, Lord, this will never happen to you,” Jesus rebuked him sharply:

“Get thee behind me, Satan!”

Jesus wasn’t calling Peter the devil. He was calling out the spirit of distraction that puts comfort before obedience. Jesus reminded everyone that following Him means denying ourselves and carrying our cross—not always doing what feels good, but doing what’s right before God.

This moment shows that even those who love us can speak out of fear or human thinking. That’s why we must know the Word of God—so we don’t let emotions or good intentions lead us away from His will.

🧠 Reflection Question:

Are you making decisions based on your feelings—or God’s Word?

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” – Hosea 4:6 KJV
Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” – Matthew 22:29 KJV
Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.” – Psalm 55:19 KJV
Don’t graduate from school and flunk in life. Study God’s Word daily!

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
