Letter From the Editor: Our Living Hope in Jesus Christ – The Power of Praise
Hello Family,
Today, March 19, falls on a Wednesday in Lent. It is the 15th day. Lent is a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and repentance observed by Christians to prepare their hearts for Easter, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection.
Remember, fasting can be from meat, gluten, alcohol or absentience from some pleasure such as social media. If you are late to observing, start now. It’s all about getting closer to God. See previous article about Lent.
Today, I want to talk about praise and its power, even over prayer. I have a personal testimony of praise and its restoration of the spirit. Let’s talk about it.

Life can feel overwhelming. Problems pile up, and it’s easy to get stuck focusing on the difficulties in front of us: health problems, school, bills, debts, family issues, greiving, jobs, relationships and businesses etc…
But as believers, we must step out of our struggles and see the bigger picture. God sees the entire world, and He holds all things in His hands. What seems impossible to us is nothing for Him.
The Lord, who breathes life into us, knows our needs before we even ask. The power of praise lifts our hearts above our struggles, aligns us with God’s presence, and invites His miracles into our lives.
Psalms 150:6 KJV “Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
The Bible reminds us that all living things share one breath:
“For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one thing befalls them: as the one die, so die the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man has no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.” (Ecclesiastes 3:19 KJV)
Yet, even creation acknowledges its Creator! Revelation 5:13 KJV tells us that every creature in heaven, on earth, and in the sea praises the Lord:
“Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”
God’s faithfulness never fails. Isaiah 25:1 KJV declares:
“O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.”
My Personal Testimony of Praise
Yesterday, I had an argument with my adult daughter and I was very upset about it. I thought something was inappropriate and she did not. We exchanged harsh words. I was so angry. I think sometimes, young people in another generation just belong to the “what’s the big deal generation” and sometimes it really upsets me.
I decided to take a walk because the trail is in a wildlife reserve and takes my mind off things. As I walked, I started lifting my voice in praise to God.
He is Lord, He is Lord!

Something amazing happened. Several trees rustled, and suddenly, about fifty birds appeared, filling the air with song. One bird even sounded like a musical instrument, giving melody to the hymn. I had heard birds chirp along before, but never like this! It was as if they had joined in worship, affirming the truth of Psalm 150:6 KJV:
“Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 150:6 KJV
At that moment, I understood more deeply: every living thing knows its Creator unless it denies God with free will. We see this in nature, and we see it even in the unexpected.
I once saw a You Tube social media clip played everywhere where people filmed a strange object moving in the sky and attempted to communicate with it with special equipment.
When someone called out the name of Jesus, the object reacted! Nothing else had moved it, but the name of Jesus did. When asked if it knew Jesus, it moved in response again, clearly signifying that it did. The only reason a living thing does not know God, its creator is because it has denied him with free will.
John 1:3 KJV “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
When I returned home from my walk, I felt at ease and at peace, ready to finish my day. This morning, when I woke up, I felt my soul restored and filled with joy. I began my daily devotion with praise, study, and prayer. Instantly, the Holy Spirit quickened me, guiding my next steps.
Later, I spoke with my daughter in a calmer spirit. We both apologized, repented for our harsh words, and found a solution. Then, we shared communion together.
Keep Satan out of your family with love and God. When you don’t know what to do, give it to God. Surround yourself with godly people and keep God at the center of your home. A house divided cannot stand. Now, all is well again.😍😍😍
Mark 3:25 KJV “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
Philippians 2:9 KJV reminds us:
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.”
God Already Knows—He Wants Your Obedience and Praise
God knows what you pray for before you ask. He knows what you need before you ask. What He truly wants is your obedience, love and your praise. It is our sacrifice. The benefits of prayer and repentance is for our benefit-to receive our request and forgiveness.
As we enter 2025, we need to be strong in faith. Just turn on the news—it’s wild out there! But we have a living hope in Jesus Christ. Let’s pray for our nation, our families, our friends, our churches, and yes, even ourselves.
One day, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess: That Jesus Christ is Lord!
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;” Philippians 2:10 KJV
So, let us keep our eyes on the Lord. Remember: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3 KJV)
Stay strong, stay prayerful, and keep praising!

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
