✍️ Who Wrote It and Why It Matters
Matthew wasn’t always a disciple—he was a tax collector, a.k.a. the guy nobody liked. But Jesus called him anyway. That alone says a lot about grace. Once Matthew left the tax booth, he picked up a pen and wrote a Gospel that proved Jesus is King—not just in title, but in fulfillment of prophecy.

jesus never leaves us

Alt tag: Jesus never leaves us

Date Written: Around A.D. 60–65
Main Point: Jesus is the Messiah, the Promised King, and the fulfillment of everything written in the Old Testament.

🔑 Key Verse:
“Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass…” – Matthew 21:5 KJV
(Translation: The King of Kings rode a donkey, not a limo. Talk about humble royalty!)

👑 Bible Story: The Triumphal Entry (Matthew 21)
Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey. People throw down palm branches and shout, “Hosanna!” It’s like a royal parade, but instead of gold and soldiers, it’s dusty streets and everyday people waving leaves.

The crowd saw a humble King. The religious leaders saw a problem. Jesus knew—it was the beginning of the end…and the start of our redemption.

🌍 Real-World Example:
A modern CEO steps off a private jet and joins the janitors for lunch—not for PR, but out of love. That’s the kind of King Jesus is. He doesn’t need flashing lights or red carpets. His power is wrapped in humility.

🧠 Science Corner:
Studies in behavioral psychology show that people are more likely to follow leaders who are humble, compassionate, and relatable. Jesus, according to Matthew, checks all those boxes. He spoke to crowds without a mic, touched lepers without fear, and taught truth without compromise.

Science calls it “transformational leadership.”
We call it Jesus being Jesus.

😂 Humor Break:
Matthew gives Jesus a résumé so impressive, even LinkedIn couldn’t handle it:
✅ Royal bloodline
✅ Miracle-worker
✅ Beatitudes speaker
✅ Storm-calmer
✅ Sin-forgiver
✅ Death-defeater

All that—and He still washed His disciples’ feet!

✝️ Why This Matters Before Good Friday
As we end Lent and approach Good Friday, Matthew reminds us that Jesus is not just our Savior—He is our King. But He didn’t wear a crown of gold. He wore a crown of thorns. He came not to conquer armies but to conquer sin and death.

💭 Reflection Question:
What kind of King rides a donkey and dies for His people?
Answer: The only One who truly loves you.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
