We are living in the last days. Jesus warned that there would come a time when the abomination of desolation would stand in the holy place (Matthew 24:15 KJV). The holy place is not just a building in Jerusalem—it includes the church, the Bride of Christ. This means false leaders and false doctrines will try to take authority in God’s house and in your life.

Guard Your Spirit and Agreements

As a believer, you must guard your spirit. When you agree with unholy leaders, friends, businesses, or even casual conversations, you may open doors to spiritual ties that give the enemy access to act in your life. Agreements can be simple: accepting a gift card with hidden strings, sexual relations outside of marriage, agreeing to a lie in anger.  If you carry unrepented sin—especially sexual sin—it clouds your judgment and makes it easy to come into agreement with darkness. Social Media romance schemes men or woman are notorous for stealing life savings and putting people in debt without a sexual relationship-just agreement.

The Global Attack on Christianity

Across the world, Christianity is under attack:

China has banned online Bible sales and restricts worship.

Nigeria sees churches burned and Christians killed by extremists.

India has passed anti-conversion laws that punish Christians for sharing the Gospel.

UK and parts of Europe have fined or arrested Christians for praying silently in public or preaching on the streets.

Middle Eastern countries often forbid traveling Christians from carrying Bibles or sharing their faith.

Jesus already told us this would happen:

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 10:22 KJV).

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake” (Matthew 24:9 KJV).

The Bait and Switch in the Church

Today, many pastors are changing the message. Some no longer baptize, serve communion, or preach repentance. Instead, they give a few songs, an easy message, and push another agenda. This is what I call the bait and switch revolution—they are pimping Jesus for personal gain. The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 KJV that false apostles transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, but their end is destruction.

Our Promise from God—Our Defense

The Lord has not left us without protection. He has given us the Holy Spirit as our guide and defender.

John 16:13 (KJV):
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

The Holy Spirit speaks through God’s Word, in our hearts, and even in dreams so that we may pray against evil before it overtakes us. We are guided by God’s eyes, surrounded by His angels, and shielded by His promise: “I will fight for you.”

This is why we must study and show ourselves approved. God’s Word is a two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12 KJV). With scripture and prayer, we prophesy against evil that rises up against us, our children, our loved ones, and neighbor. We must pray without ceasing.

When you declare, “Jesus Christ is Lord over my life and He reigns forever in victory” (Romans 10:9-10 KJV), you are placing yourself under His authority. And the Bible gives us assurance of victory:

Revelation 12:11 (KJV):
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Stay Connected to the Holy Spirit

We must remain connected to the Holy Spirit to release the power of God in our lives. With God’s Spirit, you will have discernment to know what is true and what is false. You will be able to cover your loved ones in prayer and protect your household.

Reflection Question:

Are there agreements in your life—through friendships, workplaces, or habits—that give spiritual authority to something other than Jesus Christ?

Final Thought

The world is full of traps, but Jesus has given us the Spirit of Truth. Guard your spirit, stay in prayer, repent quickly, and trust the Lord. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8 KJV).

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
