“Fear on the Move: Finding God’s Safety and Strength While in Transit”
Today, more people are on the move than at any other time in history. According to the United Nations, over 280 million people live outside their birth country, and millions more move within their own nations each year. Many relocate because of violence, persecution, or poverty. Even daily commutes on public transportation can stir fear—fear of violence, deportation, or changing laws. Yet the Bible shows us that God has always moved His people to unknown places for safety, growth, and blessing.
Scripture: Isaiah 41:10 KJV – “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee.”

Real-World Example
A young immigrant rides the bus to work each day, afraid of deportation or harassment. Yet, she opens her Bible app and reads the Psalms aloud. Though the bus feels uncertain, she finds calm in knowing that God rides with her and promises strength in every space.
Encouragement for Today
Public spaces may feel unsafe, but God’s people are never truly alone. Whether moving cities, countries, or simply commuting across town, we can trust in God’s presence. Fear of violence, deportation, or shifting laws does not outweigh God’s promises. He has always moved His children toward safety and blessing—even when the path is uncertain.

God called Abram to leave his homeland for a place He would show him. Though unknown, it was a move toward blessing. “And I will bless thee… and thou shalt be a blessing.” -

In famine, God sent Jacob’s family to Egypt, where Joseph had already been placed to preserve life. Movement became God’s way of providing safety and abundance. -
Moses and the Exodus (Exodus 14:13–14 KJV)
The children of Israel left Egypt under God’s hand. Though chased by Pharaoh, God parted the Red Sea, showing that He protects His people in uncertain journeys. -
Ruth (Ruth 1:16–17 KJV)
Ruth left Moab to follow Naomi to Bethlehem. In a new land, she found safety, provision, and became part of the lineage of Jesus Christ. -
Jesus as a Child (Matthew 2:13–15 KJV)
Joseph and Mary fled with Jesus into Egypt to escape Herod’s violence. Even the Savior’s life involved movement for safety under God’s plan. -
Paul and Silas in Prison (Acts 16:25–26 KJV)
Though unfairly jailed, they prayed and sang hymns. God shook the prison, opened the doors, and set them free. Movement—even from a cell to freedom—was God’s doing.
