Failure doesn’t disqualify you—grace restores you.
Scripture: Mark 16:7 KJV — “But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter, that he goeth before you into Galilee…”

Bible Story
Peter denied Jesus three times, yet after the resurrection, Jesus called for him by name. Grace restored his purpose, and Peter became a pillar of the early church.
Peter loved Jesus, but he was also impulsive, emotional, and sometimes too confident in his own strength.
On the night Jesus was arrested, Peter insisted boldly, “I will not deny thee” (Mark 14:31 KJV). Yet fear got the best of him. When the pressure grew, the once-brave disciple denied Jesus three times, even swearing, “I know not this man” (Mark 14:71 KJV).
At that moment, “the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter” (Luke 22:61 KJV).
Peter realized what he had done and ran out weeping bitterly. His failure crushed him. Shame told him, “You’re done. God can’t use you anymore.” But God does not tell the same story shame tells.
After the resurrection, the angel spoke one of the most grace-filled sentences in the Bible:
“Tell His disciples and Peter…” (Mark 16:7 KJV)
Why call Peter out by name?
Because grace goes after the one who feels disqualified.
Because mercy chases the one who believes they messed up too badly.
Because Jesus wanted Peter to know:
“Your failure did not remove you from My plans.”
🌿 Scriptural References That Reveal the Depth of Peter’s Restoration
1. Jesus prayed for Peter before the failure.
Luke 22:32 KJV — “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”
Jesus wasn’t surprised by Peter’s weakness.
He wasn’t shocked by the denial.
He had already prayed Peter through it.
2. Jesus restored Peter with purpose.
After the resurrection, Jesus met Peter on the shore in John 21.
Three denials → Three questions.
“Lovest thou me?”
“Feed my lambs.”
“Feed my sheep.”
(John 21:15–17)
Jesus didn’t ask for apologies—He asked for love.
He didn’t give punishment—He gave purpose.
3. Peter’s story becomes a testimony of grace.
Peter, once afraid of being identified with Jesus, later preached boldly in Acts 2.
The same man who denied Christ in fear now declared Him publicly with power.
That day, 3,000 souls were saved (Acts 2:41 KJV).
Acts 2:41 KJV “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
Failing didn’t end Peter’s story—it positioned him for greater impact.
🌍 Why This Matters for You
Peter’s journey shows us something life-changing:
Your lowest moment does not cancel God’s calling.
Your worst mistake does not rewrite God’s plan.
Your failure doesn’t intimidate God—He already factored it into your purpose.
God calls you by name just like He called Peter.
He still includes you in the story.
He still has work for you to do.
The enemy says, “You failed; stay down.”
Grace says, “Get up; I’m not finished with you.”
💬 Reflection Question
What failure have you allowed to convince you that God is done with you—when His Word is actually calling you by name back into purpose?
Do you believe God can still use you after your mistakes?
