ePrayer Room: Protection Psalm 91 Explained
Psalm 91 is a powerful chapter in the Bible about God’s protection. It tells us that God is always with us, even in difficult times. In this chapter, we learn that trusting in God brings safety, comfort, and peace.
Verse 1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” This means if we stay close to God, we are under His protection. Like a bird sheltering under its wings, God covers us with His love and care.
In Verse 2, the writer says, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” God is compared to a strong fortress, meaning He will keep us safe. No matter what happens, God will guard us like a strong castle protects its people.
Verses 3-4 explain how God protects us from danger and sickness. He will cover us like a shield, keeping us safe from harm.
Verses 5-6 remind us that we do not have to be afraid of the dark or any danger that comes by day or night. God is always watching over us, even when we sleep.
Psalm 91 teaches us that God’s protection is for those who trust Him. When we pray, we can ask for God’s help, knowing that He will never leave us alone.
