Distractions are everywhere. They stop us from focusing on what is important, like our relationship with God. Poor time management can make us unprepared for sudden crises or changes. When we do not plan for God’s guidance, we allow distractions to take over.
Distractions can be sneaky. The phone rings when you are praying. You remember something on the stove. Someone knocks on the door. Suddenly, you remember an important call you forgot to make. These moments pull us away from our time with God.
The enemy uses distractions to weaken our faith. When we allow distractions to take over, we lose our focus on God. We must develop a strong relationship with God. Take time to talk, pray, and praise Him. Walking with God gives us power. Power as the children of God.
Here are four Bible verses to help us remember the importance of staying focused on God:
- 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV): “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” This verse reminds us to stay alert and aware of distractions.
- Matthew 6:33 (KJV): “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” We should always prioritize our relationship with God.
- Colossians 3:2 (KJV): “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Focusing on heavenly things helps us stay away from earthly distractions.
- James 4:7 (KJV): “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” By submitting to God, we gain strength to resist distractions.
In conclusion, distractions are tools of the enemy. They can keep us from God. By managing our time well and focusing on our relationship with God, we can overcome these distractions and walk in His power.
Reflective Question:
How can you better manage your time to prioritize your relationship with God and avoid distractions in your daily life?

A CALL TO SALVATION:
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 10:9-10 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-6 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
Matthew 28:19 KJV “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son (Jesus), and of the Holy Ghost:”
