When we look at the world today, it feels like a movie script. Backstabbing, scammers, blackmail, murder, fraud, and shady deals are not only in governments, but also in corporations, jobs, careers, relationships, and even matters of the heart.
People may not realize it, but every system of power is tied to some form of spiritual worship. Behind the scenes, spirits of pride, greed, lust, and control are pulling strings. What looks like politics, money, or romance on the outside often hides a spiritual battle on the inside.
Movies make these things look exciting, but in real life, being a victim is no blockbuster hit. People lose jobs, families, peace, and even their lives. The question we must ask is: What does Jesus say about these things?

The Words of Jesus
Jesus warned His followers to “take heed that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4 KJV). Deception is a tool of the enemy, and it is used to gain power and control. He also said, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Matthew 16:26 KJV). That means no amount of money, political clout, or career success is worth eternal separation from God.
In John 8:44 KJV, Jesus made it clear that lies, murder, and corruption come from the devil: ““Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”” This shows us that behind every unjust system is a spirit not from God but from darkness.
The Reality of Power Games
Whether it is a corrupt leader, a greedy boss, or a cheating partner, deception thrives on self-interest and fear. But Jesus calls His followers to walk in truth. “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32 KJV).
When we are grounded in God’s Word, we can see past the masks people wear. Scapegoats, blackmail, and power games may destroy earthly lives, but they cannot destroy the soul of one who trusts in God.
Hope for the Victim
The good news is that Jesus Himself was once the victim of blood politics. He was betrayed, falsely accused, and executed by a mix of religious and political power. Yet He rose again in victory. This shows us that deception and corruption never win in the end. God’s justice always has the last word.
✨ Reflection Question: Let’s talk about it.
Where in your life do you see the temptation of deception, and how can you replace it with truth in Christ?

Final Thought
The world may be full of deception, but Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6 KJV). When we trust Him, we are no longer pawns in the games of men. Instead, we become children of the King, who promises eternal justice and peace.
