Daily Word: Increase Strength with Quietness and Confidence Isaiah 30:15 KJV Explained

In the book of Isaiah, the prophet shares a powerful message from the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, about the path to salvation and strength. Isaiah 30:15 (King James Version) says, “For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.”

This verse speaks to the importance of turning back to God and finding rest in Him. It emphasizes the need for quietness and confidence in God, which ultimately leads to strength. One biblical story that illustrates this principle is the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32)KJV.

In this story, a young man asks his father for his inheritance and goes off to live a life of pleasure and indulgence. However, he soon finds himself in a state of desperation and decides to return to his father. Despite expecting rejection, he is welcomed back with open arms.

This story highlights the concept of returning to God. Like the prodigal son, we may stray from God’s path and seek fulfillment in worldly things. However, true salvation and strength come from returning to God and finding rest in Him.

Furthermore, the story emphasizes the importance of quietness and confidence in God. The prodigal son had to trust that his father would forgive him and accept him back. Similarly, we must have quiet confidence in God’s love and mercy.

In conclusion, Isaiah 30:15 KJV reminds us that true salvation and strength come from returning to God, finding rest in Him, and trusting in His goodness. Just as the prodigal son found forgiveness and acceptance, we too can find strength in quietness and confidence in God.

  • How can the principles of returning to God, finding rest in Him, and trusting in His plan for our lives be applied to your own journey of faith and strength?

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
