“Understanding Psalm 37:32-33: A Lesson from Daniel in the Lion’s Den”

• Let’s look at the story of Daniel in the lion’s den to understand this verse better.  Remember, there is no condemnation in Jesus Christ.  Romana 8:1 KJV There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Daniel was a good man who loved God. He prayed to God three times a day, even though he lived in a place where not everyone believed in God. Daniel worked for a king named Darius. King Darius liked Daniel and trusted him because Daniel was honest and wise.

Some of the other men who worked for the king were jealous of Daniel. They didn’t like how much the king favored Daniel. These men were like the “wicked” mentioned in Psalm 37:32. They watched Daniel and tried to find a way to get rid of him.

They knew that Daniel always prayed to God, so they came up with a plan. They convinced King Darius to make a new law. This law said that for 30 days, no one could pray to anyone except the king. If anyone disobeyed, they would be thrown into a den of lions.

Daniel knew about the new law, but he loved God and continued to pray. The jealous men saw Daniel praying and told the king. King Darius was very sad because he liked Daniel, but he had to follow the law. So, Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den.

The wicked men thought they had won. But, Daniel trusted God to protect him. God sent an angel to shut the mouths of the lions, and they did not hurt Daniel. The next morning, the king found Daniel safe and sound. King Darius was very happy and ordered Daniel to be taken out of the den.

This story shows that even when bad people try to harm those who love God, God can protect His faithful followers. Daniel’s trust in God saved him from the lions. Psalm 37:32 reminds us that while wicked people may watch and plan against the righteous, God’s protection is always with those who do what is right.

By trusting in God like Daniel, we can have faith that God will keep us safe, even when others try to harm us.
