Revenge feels like justice, but it brings destruction. Samson got revenge on his enemies, but he lost his strength and freedom. The Bible tells us to leave vengeance to God. Revenge keeps you stuck in pain. Forgiveness frees your heart and lets God handle the situation.

Romans 12:19 KJV – ““Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.””

Matthew 5:44 KJV  – “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;“

Proverbs 24:29 KJV– ““Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.”.

Bible Story:
Samson took revenge on the Philistines. It led to his capture and death.  Samson, chosen by God to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines, allowed anger and revenge to guide his actions. After the Philistines wronged him, he struck back in fury, killing many of them (Judges 15:7–8, KJV).

His desire for vengeance continued throughout his life, and eventually, it led him into a trap. Delilah deceived him, and the Philistines captured him after cutting his hair, the source of his Nazarite strength (Judges 16:17–21 KJV). Blinded and humiliated, Samson’s final act was one of both revenge and sacrifice—he prayed for strength one last time and pulled down the temple on himself and the Philistines (Judges 16:28–30 KJV).

His story is a sobering reminder that revenge often comes with great personal cost.
