As Easter approaches, believers around the world reflect on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Lent, a season of repentance and preparation, calls us to examine our hearts and draw closer to God. Just as Jesus died and rose again, baptism symbolizes this powerful transformation in our own lives.

It is a public declaration that we are leaving behind the old and stepping into the new. Through repentance and renewal, we become partakers in Christ’s resurrection, experiencing the life-changing power of salvation.

Key Scriptures:

Mark 1:15 (KJV) – “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

Romans 12:2 (KJV) – “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Bible Study: A New Life Begins at the Water

Water is a powerful symbol in the Bible. It represents cleansing, renewal, and transformation. When we surrender to God, we leave behind the old life of sin and step into a new identity in Christ.

One of the most powerful stories of transformation through water is the baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8:26-39 KJV. This man was seeking truth, reading the book of Isaiah, yet he needed guidance. God sent Philip to explain that Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecy.

The eunuch believed, and as they traveled, he saw water and asked, “See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?” (Acts 8:36, KJV). Philip replied, “If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.” The eunuch was baptized, and immediately, he rejoiced in his new life.

Baptism is more than just an act of obedience—it is a symbolic ritual that represents the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When we are immersed in water, it signifies our old sinful self being buried with Christ. As we rise from the water, we are partakers of His resurrection, stepping into a new life in Him.

This transformation is not just physical but spiritual, as we put on Christ and commit to walking in His ways (Romans 6:3-4 KJV). Baptism is a public declaration that we belong to Jesus, no longer conformed to the world but renewed in His righteousness.

Let God take you to the water. A brand-new you is waiting on the other side! 💙💦

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
