Psalm 46:10 (KJV)“Be still, and know that I am God…”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Sometimes we try to fix everything and help everyone. We worry too much and carry too many burdens. But God tells us to be still. That means stop, rest, and trust Him. He is God—not us.

In Psalm 46:10 KJV, God reminds us that He is in control. When we stop trying to do it all and trust Him, we find peace. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV, the Bible says we are made new in Christ. That means we don’t have to carry our past or try to fix what we cannot change. God makes all things new.

Bible Story Example: King Jehoshaphat – Victory Without Fighting (2 Chronicles 20 KJV)

King Jehoshaphat heard that a great army was coming to destroy his people. He was scared, but instead of rushing to fight, he stopped and prayed. Then he told everyone to fast and seek the Lord. God spoke through a prophet and said, “Be not afraid nor dismayed…for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15, KJV)

Jehoshaphat obeyed. He didn’t gather weapons—he gathered singers to praise the Lord! While they sang, God killed the enemy armies.  Jehoshaphat’s people didn’t have to lift a hand. The battle was won because they stood still and trusted God.

2 Chronicles: 20: 15-18 KJV   15And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 16To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. 17Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. 18And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.

Lesson from the Story

Just like Jehoshaphat, we don’t have to fix every problem. Sometimes, the best thing to do is praise, pray, and wait. God is working behind the scenes. He fights battles we can’t see.

Real-World Example

Imagine a mom trying to do everything—work, cook, clean, and help others. She’s worn out and feels like a failure. But one day, she prays, reads her Bible, and learns to let go. She starts asking God for help. Her peace grows because she trust him in her short comings. She is guided in doing the most important things first and often find that leaving something to the next day is quiet alright-nothing falls apart. Sometimes help comes and she learns to accept it.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9-10  9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-6  5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
