Psalm 118:22 (KJV)
“The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”
1 Peter 2:6 (KJV)
“Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.”
Matthew 7:24–27 (KJV) (parable of the wise and foolish builders) 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Buildings crack when foundations shift. Relationships fracture when Christ is not central. Paul reminds us that reconciliation is not built on personality, politics, or preference—it is built on Christ.
In Matthew 7, Jesus described two builders: one on sand, one on rock. Storms came to both. Only the one built on the right foundation stood.
Counseling insight: Many conflicts escalate because people try to fix surface behaviors without addressing foundational beliefs.
When Christ becomes the shared cornerstone, priorities realign. Unity cannot survive on emotion alone. It must rest on truth.
The greater purpose of reconciliation is spiritual—Christ unites believers to God first, and then to each other. When Christ is central, walls collapse.

Romans 10:9-109That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
John 3:5-65Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
