Devotional

Peace must rule—not emotion. Feelings can rise quickly when life feels uncertain or unfair.

Yet believers are called to live from a deeper center. God’s peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of Christ guiding the heart.

When His authority is welcomed within, reactions begin to change. Instead of rushing to defend, argue, or withdraw, the soul learns to pause and trust.

The Bible teaches this clearly in Colossians 3:15 (KJV):
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”
Here, peace is described as a ruler or decision-maker. It helps believers choose calmness over chaos. When peace leads, words become gentler and actions more thoughtful.

A powerful example appears in the story of the storm in Mark 4:39 (KJV):
“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
Jesus showed that true peace flows from spiritual authority. The storm outside reflected the fear inside the disciples.

When Christ spoke, both the sea and their hearts were steadied. This reminds believers that God’s presence can quiet inner storms just as surely as outer ones.

Emotionally, calm and regulated responses prevent conflict from growing. Spiritually, peace creates space for unity and reconciliation. Anger often fuels division, but peace invites understanding. As James 3:18 (KJV) explains, “the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”

You cannot pursue reconciliation while ruled by anger. Let Christ govern your reactions. When His peace leads, relationships are protected, and unity becomes possible even in difficult moments.

Romans 10:9-109That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

John 3:5-65Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7
